All original movement, Dial, and Case. 1st year of production of the Rolex Perpetual in 1933 while Rolex was still The Oyster Watch Co. (1925-1935). In 1935, The Oyster Watch Co. Changed their name to "Rolex Watch Co." and added "Perpetual" to the new automatic model; "Rolex Oyster Perpetual"!
Personalized and presented by the last crew to the last Captain of the U.S.S. Monocacy the same year (1933). "To Lt. C.V. CONLAN/ To the Last Captain from the Last Crew of The MONOCACY". A United States Naval Legend. The "Yangtze Patrol" was made famous by the movie "Sand Pebbles" starring Steve McQueen in 1966 (therefore, the 1st "steve McQueen" watch"). CV Conlan, Ret USN Rear Admiral, recipient of the U.S. Navy Cross for his heroism aboard the U.S.S. Monocacy in 1938, died at age 77 in Santa Clara County. Admiral Nimitz Captained a Yangtze Patrol Boat some 8 years before Admiral Conlan allowing them a U.S. Naval respected friendship (both Admirals) which lasted throughout WWII in the Pacific.
