This offering was created because of collector demand for a suitable and correct period logo buckle and strap style. The Omega factory Logo steel buckle was produced in approximately 1955. ELGIN 22j B.W. RAYMOND GOLD FLASHED WORLD WAR II MILITARY Circa: 1942 Created especially for the American War effort in 1942 with very short notice. This movement began as existing stock of a 21j railroad grade. The extra jewel was added to accommodate the sweep seconds indication hand and a "Hack Feature" was added. This hack feature allowed the user to coordinate time with other officers for radio silence military operations in the field. This Elgin is much rarer than the higher production Hamilton and, therefore, is especially collectible. This example still retains the original dial and bright colored indication hands.
