ELGIN W.Co. 18k GOLD BOX HINGED HUNTING CASE 8 SIZE Circa: 1878. Much sought after. Fine and rare. The so called: "Box Hinge" referes to the additional case work surrounding the stem, crown, and the bottom of this case design. Always adds value to any American case. Featured is the case material; 18k Gold. The fancy engraved work on the exterior is in excellent original condition, free of scratches or appreciable wear. This case was built by The Brooklyn Watch Case Co. and carrys the Logo of the American Eagle on the inside lids. Clean, running and still very accurate.

DIAL: White porcelain single sunken dial with Roman figures and Keyhole original hands. A small hairline cluster exists at 7 edge. MOVEMENT: 8 size, hunting case, 3/4 plate nickel, lever set, 15 Jewels, #598,189. CASE: Rare very fancy 18k gold Box Hinged design hunting case, built by The Brookyn watch Case Co.
