**AMERICAN WATCH Co. MODEL 16 KEY WIND and KEY SET FROM BACK 16 SIZE Circa: 1868 MODEL. Rare. Low production early American Watch Co. sixteen size model key wind, key set fgrom the back. During this period of production, vertually all pocket watches were the much larger 18 size. In 1873 the American Watch Company reformed and the Waltham Watch Co. was created. This example is very near to mint condition and the purpose of the case is simply to protect this rare early American Waltham movement and dial. All price guides value this model starting at a low of $700.00 and a high of $1500.00. Priced well below the value schedule, this watch is especially interesting.

MOVEMENT: Sixteen size, 3/4 plate gilt, Key Wind and Key set from the rear, 11 Jewels, all screw down jewel settings, signed; "American watch Co., Waltham, Mass.", "1865/ Foggs Safety Pinon/ Patd.
