ELGIN 23j VERITAS ANTIQUE BOW MODEL CASE Circa: 1918 Grade 452. This watch is a beautiful example of the famous 23 jewel Veritas Model. Extra thick hard rock beveled original glass crystal. The double sunken original R.R. dial, and the Antique Bow model original case adds to value. The Elgin Veritas was produced by Elgin in both the larger and earlier 18 size. This is the mid-size or 16 size, which fits into the Railroad trainmans pocket for a better fit. The original movement is flawless and in outstanding bright color condition. Clean, running, accurate. This is a very collectible example of this rare high grade.

DIAL: White porcelain, double sunken with the original black spade R.R. hands. Signed: "ELGIN". An extremely faint hairline exists near the sub. seconds circle. High value scarce ordinal dial. MOVEMENT: 16 size, open face, lever set, 3/4 plate nickel with star burst nickel patterns, signed: "VERITAS", "Double Roller", "23 Jewels", this model has a jeweled main spring barrel, #21,77,645. Original to the case and dial. Remarkable, like new original condition. CASE: Antique Bow model built by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co. and is rated 20years. Plain original polished surfaces, screw back and bezel with an antique bow. Very nice. NOTE: Please view our return policy for exchanges and returns.
