HAMPDEN 23 JEWEL NEW RAILWAY GILT TRIMMED TWO-TONE ROSE & NICKEL MOVEMENT BUST of an ELK CASE Circa: 1902. The best of teh Hampden Railroad Grade. This "New Railway" model features a gold signed; gilt trimmed colored beautiful movement. The double hinged case with the Bust of an Elk adds to interest and value. Yes, this model is one of the most beautiful of all Railroad approved pocket watches. Especially desirable and collectible. Clean, running and still very accurate.

DIAL: White porcelain double sunken dial with bold fancy Arabic figures and signed "Hampden Watch Co.". Tiny hairlines at 12 and 6 edge only. Very nice original dial. MOVEMENT: 18 size, open face, lever set, two-tone rose and nickel pattern plates with gold signature and gilt trimmed (all gold screws), "ADJUSTED", "New Railway", "23 Jewels", #1,647,701. Very beautiful movement with bold, bright color. Clean, running. CASE: Excellent double hinged back and bezel, yellow gold filled with the bust of an interesting Elk on back center, just above the blank crest. Very nice, impressive.
