ELGIN 23 JEWEL GRADE 540 B.W. RAYMOND MONTGOMERY WHITE GOLD FILLED RR CASE C: 1938. Used. The case is especially designed for this model and adds value. This screw back and bezel fancy white gold filled case features a snap off dust cover protecting the movement. The original extra bold Elgin Montgomery designed factory dial is very rare and also adds much value to otherwise what would be just another high grade railroad watch. The case is a unique design and is not persoanalized. Very desirable. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME.
DIAL: Single sunken white porcelain with extra bold Montgomery and Arabic figures. The hands are also matching original extra bold black blued spade Railroad Approved correct hands. A singel very light hairline is starting to mature at 1 o'clock. MOVEMENT: 16 size, open face, lever set, "B.W. Raymond", "23 Jewels, , "MOTOR BARREL", "Adjusted 5 :ositions", all 14k time train (wheels), all 14k screw back jewel settings, #37,940,002. Mint clean, running. CASE: Excellent screw back and bezel with a fancy back free of initials, or any personalization. The dust cover snaps off. The original hinged bow is supported by a unique designed platform.
