Top- Range Case maker Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland produced this case design, one of several and very special .935 silver case designs only for the Philippine and Singapore markets. This marketing attempt failed and many cases were never sold or distributed. Very few were produced because of this marketing failure. This watch was discovered in a lot of 8 (uncirculated). Like Cartier (The "tank" is l935 Silver with a yellow plate) this Omega case maker originally intended to nickel plate this case to protect it against tarnish. This case was never nickel plated and is uncirculated and is like new. Extremely rare. Note: See page 261 OMEGA/ A JOURNEY THROUGH time BY Marco Richon and Nicolas G. Hayek 2007 831 pages. Dial: Professionally restored signed; “OMEGA” and Swiss made under the sub. Seconds circle. Original hands and very fine applied teardrop (Arrowhead) steel figures. Very nice. MOVEMENT: ¾ plate rose, pendent set, Caliber “266”, “OMEGA Swiss”, 17 Jewels, #20,477,354. Beautiful condition free of distraction and original to this case. CASE: All original snap back and bezel especially designed 10mm thick and 47mm in total length. 38mm diameter without the crown makes this case one of the largest of it’s day in 1949. Inside back marked with the Fabrication of the Top-Range Case maker Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland and & “.0935”. Original rare case. NOTE: Please view our return policy for exchanges and returns.
